Probability basically means the chance of something happening and ranges from the impossible (0 or 0%) to certain (1 or 100%). In other words, probability is how likely the chances are for an event to occur and probability it always between 0 and 1.
When thinking of a coin, the probability of landing on heads is 1/2 or 50%. Similarly, the chances of landing on 5 when tossing a die is 1 in 6.
Probability = Number of ways it can happen / total number of outcomes
